Job summary

Silgan Closures is seeking a Maintenance Technician II in Kingsport, TN to support molding machines, robots, and packaging systems. This position focuses on electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and drive controllers while maintaining a safe, climate-controlled work environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, read schematics, and collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

Industrial manufacturing experience with 5+ years.
Able to adapt to fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Proficient in reading schematics and using CMMS.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain molding machines, robots, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) to reduce equipment downtime.
Respond to machine alarms and identify root causes of equipment issues.
Repair electrical controls, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and drive controllers.
Upload and restore machine control programs when needed.
Repair, calibrate, and adjust robotic equipment and pick-and-place systems.
Read and interpret OEM manuals, schematics, gauges, and measuring tools.
