Job summary

The AZEK Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to help keep extrusion lines and related equipment running around the clock in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Scranton, PA. You will work with maintenance managers, supervisors, and operators to maintain equipment and improve reliability.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic welding, forklift, and maintenance certification; experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems is valued,

Qualifications

• Must troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with extrusion processes and twin screw setup is a plus.
• Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong problem solving and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production lines and equipment to ensure uptime.
• Helps develop and prioritize maintenance work orders with leadership.
• Completes work orders as defined by supervision and leads.
• Supports TPM and 6S programs and continuous improvement.
• Coaches operators on preventative maintenance checks.
• Assists in line commissioning after maintenance events.
• Participates in plant projects and cross-functional tasks.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Ensures production lines and other equipment are maintained and able to run at all times
• Assists in developing and prioritizing work orders with Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision and Line Leads.
• Completes work order requests as defined by Maintenance Manager, Productions Management/Supervision, and/or Operators.
• Supports workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM).
• Assists, coaches, and trains operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks
• Supports and assists preventative maintenance process on the shift
• Contributes and assists in line commissioning after maintenance/process events
• Assists and participates with other plant projects as needed
• Operates in a manner that provides value to the team
• Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
  

Skills & Abilities
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Advanced education and/or related-certification(s), a plus
Experience: 0 plus years of experience in role of Maintenance Tech I
Computer Skills: Computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
Certifications & Licenses: Will meet qualification and certification requirements established by TimberTech"s Training
Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program
Completion of two year Maintenance Certification course
Stick and wire welding experience required with structural welding certification, a plus
Forklift experience required with the ability to complete TT Forklift Certification program
Other Requirements: Proven experience in working unassisted with and troubleshooting: Electrical, Electronic, Motor Controller Drives, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems; Strong background in
manufacturing systems in dynamic fast-paced manufacturing environment; Working knowledge of extrusion process, twin screw setup, blending system a plus; Knowledge of PLC Logic technology, a plus; Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings; Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally; Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities; Strong mathematical skills; Success in planning, executing and managing projects; Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate upward and downward to a wide range of audiences; Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment
