Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a skilled maintenance professional to improve, maintain, and repair equipment across manufacturing, production, refrigeration, and packaging functions. You will troubleshoot mechanical and process issues while applying continuous improvement to maximize equipment effectiveness.

The role covers planning, scheduling, water treatment, boiler and ammonia systems, regulatory record keeping, and PMs in a multi-craft environment with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Mechatronics certifications Levels 1–4 completed.
• 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with ammonia/HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and general mechanical knowledge.
• Training in refrigeration and controls; knowledge of SQF, GMPs, LOTO and Lean.
• Welding/metal fabrication skills (MIG/TIG) for food-grade equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supports planning, scheduling and maintenance activities.
• Proactively maintains water treatment, refrigeration, boiler functions and equipment including ammonia, refrigeration, boilers, chilled water, compressed air, HVAC.
• Regulatory and compliance record keeping for all systems.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance (major and minor) of utilities systems in multi-craft environment including PLC, instrumentation, mechanical and general equipment repair.
• Responsible for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and work order completion in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as required by Maintenance Manager.
• Practice 200% safety accountability in self and others.
