Job summary

The Scion Group is hiring a Maintenance Technician II to repair, service and maintain residential properties on-site in Columbia, SC. The role emphasizes rapid, safe, and effective handling of building systems and preventive maintenance to ensure asset reliability.

You will work in a fast-paced, collegiate environment, logging requests in CMMS, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring daily completion of service tasks.

Qualifications

• High school/GED or trade school diploma
• 3–5 years of full-time general maintenance experience or equivalent
• HVAC certification/EPA 608 (Core, Type I, II & III)
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or plan to obtain within six months
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Knowledge of safety procedures and scheduling flexibility
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience with Entrata, CMMS, BAS or Digital Control System

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency with BAS, Entrata and CMMS for logging service requests and completed work
• Maintain property standards per SOPs, OSHA and industry standards
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to minimize liability
• Monitor and diagnose major building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pumps, boilers)
• Operate safety systems: fire pumps, alarms, sprinklers, detectors
• Coordinate with vendors and schedule maintenance with supervisor
• Inspect vacated apartments and plan necessary repairs
• Document work and materials used with signatures and notes
