Job summary

Aerotek in Lakeville, MN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support daily operations at a large distribution center, focusing on mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on material-handling and facility equipment.

You will work on conveyors, sorters, palletizers, dock levelers, racking and packaging gear, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate with electricians while electrical work is outsourced.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and industrial repair experience.
• Experience with conveyors, bearings, chains, belts, rollers and gearboxes.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with maintenance repair, electrical, PLC troubleshooting, welding and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with 3-phase electrical systems and general electrical maintenance.

• Maintain mechanical systems on conveyors, sorters, palletizers, dock levelers, racking and packaging equipment.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes and restore service.
• Execute preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic components including cylinders, valves, hoses, regulators and actuators.
• Support refrigeration contractors with mechanical tasks around doors and seals.
• Perform facility maintenance such as door repairs, dock equipment adjustments and racking repairs.
• Document work orders in the CMMS and communicate equipment status to supervisors.
• Coordinate with outsourced electricians for wiring, controls or electrical issues.

Job Description

We are seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our team in a distribution center in Lakeville. The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in supporting daily operations by performing mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on material-handling and facility equipment. This role focuses on mechanical systems, as all electrical work is outsourced.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical systems on conveyors, sorters, palletizers, dock levelers, racking, and packaging equipment.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting to identify root causes of failures and restore equipment to service.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Repair hydraulic and pneumatic components including cylinders, valves, hoses, regulators, and actuators.
• Support refrigeration contractors by handling mechanical tasks around doors, seals, evaporator housings, and mechanical hardware.
• Perform facility maintenance such as mechanical door repairs, dock equipment adjustments, and racking repairs.
• Document work orders in the CMMS and communicate equipment status to supervisors.
• Coordinate with outsourced electricians when issues involve wiring, controls, or electrical components.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial mechanical repair.
• Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, bearings, chains, belts, rollers, and gearboxes.
• Mechanical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• Experience with maintenance repair, electrical, PLC troubleshooting, welding, PLC control, electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with 3 phase, installation, and electrical maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise in maintenance, repair, mechanical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and preventative maintenance.
• Experience with conveyors is highly desirable.
