Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on line equipment in a food manufacturing environment. You will work with conveyor systems, assembly machinery, and plant utilities to keep production running smoothly.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of related experience, a maintenance-focused education, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This full-time role requires flexibility for various shifts and uses SAP for work-order tracking.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
