Job summary

Schwan's Company in Deer Park, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot conveyor systems and production machinery in a food manufacturing setting. The role offers a full-time schedule with Sunday through Thursday shifts from 6 am to 2:30 pm and competitive pay.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of related maintenance experience, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.

• Lift up to 50 lbs; basic to advanced mechanical and electrical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery.
• Perform mechanical repairs including shaft keying, broaching, gear head replacement, welding, hose fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation and precision measurements; identify root causes.
• Use SAP to document maintenance activities and track work orders.

Starting Pay: $28 - $31.50 per hour Shift: Sunday through Thursday 6 am - 2:30 pm

  What You Will Do:

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.

• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.

• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.

• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.

• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

• What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.

• 3+ years of related experience.

• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.

• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
