Job summary

The Swan Food Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Texas facility. This full-time role focuses on preventive maintenance and rapid repair of conveyor systems and production machinery in a food manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of related experience, a maintenance trade credential, and the ability to work varied shifts. Excellent problem solving and mechanical skills are essential. Benefits include comprehensive packages and 401k with company match.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work varied hours including full-time, overtime or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge; electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, welding, fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of plant machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, testing, and precision instruments; identify root causes.
• Utilize SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and coordinate with production and operations teams.

Starting Pay: $29 - $32.50 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 6 am - 6 pm, Wednesday 6 am - 12 pm

What You Will Do:

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.
