Job summary

CJ Schwan's in Kentucky is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshoot conveyor systems and food production machinery, ensuring reliable operation and minimizing downtime. This role offers hands-on work in a food manufacturing environment with opportunities for advancement.

The position requires 3+ years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED (two-year trade degree preferred), and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

Starting Pay: $31.00 per hour

Additional $1.50 shift differential from 6p.m. -- 6 a.m.
