Job summary

CJ Schwan's is seeking a maintenance technician for our Oklahoma plant. You will conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot conveyor systems and production equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires 3+ years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED (2-year degree preferred), and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Starting pay is $27.00/hour with a $1.50 shift differential; use SAP to document work orders and coordinate with production teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related maintenance experience.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot conveyor systems and food production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Perform mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and installation of new or modified machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation and precision measurement to identify root causes.
• Utilize SAP to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate with production teams.

Starting Pay: $27.00
Additional $1.50 shift differential from 6:00 PM -- 6:00 AM
Shift: 1st Shift

Schedule: 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Monday - Friday

What You Will Do:

• Conduct advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on conveyor systems and food production machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimize downtime.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs including shaft keying, sprocket broaching, gear head replacement, stainless steel welding, hydraulic hose fabrication, and belt maintenance using specialized tools and equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, teardown, welding, fabrication, and installation of new or modified plant machinery to support production needs.
• Diagnose mechanical issues through observation, auditory assessment, and use of precision measuring instruments, and effectively identifying and resolving root causes.
• Utilize SAP software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and communicate effectively with production and operations teams to optimize workflow.

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Work different ranges of hours such as full-time, overtime, or weekend shifts.
• Basic to advanced mechanical knowledge, electrical and building skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
