Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team in Trafalgar, IN. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and systems.

The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule with periodic overtime and on‑the‑job training. You will work with hand and power tools, read blueprints, and ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment test.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic components.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues using precision measuring devices.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust as needed.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective action.
