Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

This role supports a Monday–Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime and includes on-the-job training to develop your skills. You’ll contribute to safe operations, read blueprints and schematics, and work with CMMS for work orders while

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment test.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work overtime as needed.
read and understand maintenance literature in English.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools and precision measuring devices.
Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics and manuals.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using testing instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks and perform repairs as required.
Inspect and lubricate shafts, bearings and gears per procedures.
Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
