Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, following blueprints and engineering specs.

The role requires use of hand/power tools, precision instruments, and CMMS software, with overtime as needed. We offer on-the-job training, opportunities for career growth, and a culture that values diversity and teamwork.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must read blueprints and schematics.
Lockout/Tagout experience required.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools and precision measurement devices.
Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specs.
Troubleshoot equipment issues using measuring/testing instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing; log results and adjust as needed.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and equipment; perform repairs as required.
Record meter readings and take corrective actions on utilities.
Perform safety checks on locations/systems and address concerns.
Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and parts.
Use Computerized Maintenance Management System for tasks.
