Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment across our facility. A Monday-Friday work week with occasional night and weekend overtime is typical, with on-the-job training provided.

Ideal candidates have a High school diploma or GED and a two-year technical degree is preferred. You will need basic computer skills, ability to read blueprints, and be able to lift up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints/schematics and maintenance literature.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision measuring/test instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment testing and adjust as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as required.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
• Inspect/move/maintain shafts, bearings, gears, and other components.
• Use Computerized Maintenance Management System for records and tasks.
