Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for Sandoval West, a 224-unit affordable housing community in El Paso, TX. You will perform maintenance across apartments, residential common areas, office, grounds, and parking lots, ensuring quality workmanship and timely service.

The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with on-call duty as needed. Ideal candidates have less than 1 year of relevant experience, general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• A current vehicle license in good standing and meet driving records standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Willingness to work with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market-ready status in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

About the Opportunity

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Sandoval West , a 224-unit affordable housing community located in El Paso, TX.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots.

The selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM with on-call duty required when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• A current vehicle license in good standing and meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
