Job summary

WinnCompanies is hiring a Maintenance Technician I for Autumn Ridge Village, a 251-unit Project Based Section 8 community in Sterling Heights, MI. You will maintain residential units, common areas, offices, grounds, and parking lots.

The pay range is $20.00-$21.00 per hour with a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule and a rotating on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in areas including appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies as scheduled.

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Autumn Ridge Village, a 251-unit Project Based Section 8 housing community located in Sterling Heights, MI.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots.

The pay range for this role is $20.00-$21.00 per hour. The selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM with a rotating on-call schedule being on-call for 2 weeks and off of on- call for 4 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Vocational or technical training.
• A current vehicle license in good standing and meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
