Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components in a fast-paced environment. The role includes following blueprints and manuals, and using a CMMS for tracking work orders.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of relevant experience, plus lockout/tagout knowledge. Overtime may be required, and on-the-job training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must be at least 18 and have valid driver's license.
• Experience repairing industrial processing equipment preferred.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand/power tools and electronics testers.
• Ensure safe operation of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot equipment via measurements and testing devices.
• Test boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment systems and adjust as needed.
• Perform daily/weekly boiler safety checks and repairs.
• Record utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, replace filters, lubricate parts.
• Read and interpret maintenance literature in English.
• Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
