Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. in Wilmington, IL seeks a full-time maintenance technician to support the facilities team. You will perform preventive maintenance, service equipment, and assist with refrigeration tasks after training.

The role requires lifting, standing for long periods, and working in cold environments. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with maintenance experience, and familiarity with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better or equivalent
• Previous maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of general hand and power tools.
• Experience with preventative maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the maintenance department and cover while in training.
• Maintain professionalism and foster collaboration with facility management and team members.
• Complete painting tasks, including working at heights and in cold environments.
• Maintain and replace forklift batteries and perform routine inspections.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and log equipment hours and safety checks.
• conduct regular building maintenance for safety and cleanliness.
• Accurately complete work orders and document maintenance activities.
• Participate in training for equipment and safety procedures.
• Support emergency response efforts as required.
• Complete required annual emergency response physicals including lung capacity and hearing tests.
• Assist with entry-level refrigeration tasks under supervision after training and certification.
