Job summary

Serving Two Care Facilities is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to support operations at both care sites. You will perform general repairs, assist with preventive maintenance, and help ensure safe, comfortable environments for residents and staff.

The successful candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and be able to coordinate priorities with the Maintenance Director. Travel between facilities is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on building maintenance experience required.
• Experience with general repairs, preventive maintenance, and tool safety.
• Healthcare/nursing home setting preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
• Dependability and respectful communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to travel between facilities and hold a valid driver's license if driving.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of building systems and furnishings.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and communicate needs.
• Assist with inspections, maintenance records, and safety checks.
• Maintain grounds, walkways, common areas, and exterior spaces.
• Help move furniture, equipment, and supplies safely.
• Keep tools and work areas organized.
• Coordinate work to minimize disruption to residents and operations.
• Travel between facilities as assigned.
• Follow safety procedures for infection prevention and resident areas.
