Job summary

Serving Two Care Facilities is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to support operations at both care sites. You will perform general repairs, assist with preventive maintenance, and help ensure safe, comfortable environments for residents and staff.

The successful candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and be able to coordinate priorities with the Maintenance Director. Travel between facilities is required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has hands-on building maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating priorities with the Maintenance Director.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical repairs within training and authorization, carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of building systems, equipment, and furnishings.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and communicate repair needs or safety concerns.
• Assist with routine inspections, maintenance records, and safety checks.
• Maintain grounds, walkways, common areas, and exterior spaces.
• Help move furniture, equipment, and supplies safely.
• Keep tools, supplies, and maintenance work areas organized.
• Coordinate work to minimize disruption to residents and facility operations.
• Travel between both facilities as assigned.
• Follow facility procedures for safety, infection prevention, and working in resident care areas.

Qualifications

• Previous hands-on building maintenance experience required.
• Working knowledge of general repairs, preventive maintenance, and safe use of hand and power tools.
• Experience in a nursing home, healthcare, behavioral health, or residential setting preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
• Dependability, professionalism, and respectful communication with residents and staff.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
