Job summary

Planned Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. The role involves preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with responsibilities ranging from boiler checks to light carpentry and painting.

This is a full-time position with a schedule Sunday–Thursday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Candidates should have at least 3 years in a similar role, strong plumbing/electrical/carpentry skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a similar maintenance role.
• Strong plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and repair as needed.
• Checking boiler and hot water heaters for leaks and reporting.
• Scheduling extermination procedures as necessary.
• Maintaining social areas or amenities as needed.
• Assuring walkways are clear and salted during inclement weather.
• Inventorying maintenance supplies.
• Troubleshooting tripped breakers, leaking pipes, and water intrusion.
• General repair of building components including doors, plastering, light carpentry.
• Maintaining logs and inspection records of operating equipment.
• Inspecting rooftop exhaust fans, cooling tower, and water drives.
• Ensuring trash removal and organized trash areas.
• Replacing light fixtures and electrical components.
• Adjusting locks and latches on doors/windows/lockers.
• Removing and replacing blown bulbs.
• Painting and plastering as required.
• Maintaining daily records of work performed.
• Reporting external work needs and keeping records.
• Assisting building management with projects and other duties.
