Job summary

Fluor Corp in Spartanburg, SC seeks a Maintenance Technician for safe repair and troubleshooting of maintenance equipment. Responsibilities cover installation, preventive and routine maintenance, and decommissioning of equipment and machinery. Shifts are 11pm–7am with possible overtime.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years industrial maintenance, strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic skills, and familiarity with CMMS (MP2, SAP). Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two Year College Degree or Technical Training preferred.
• Two+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability.
• Electrical and hydraulic experience for repair work.
• Experience with extrusion/injection molding equipment preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• CMMS MP2 and SAP experience a plus.
• Forklift/Aerial Lift experience a plus.
• Reads metric and imperial prints, schematics and manuals.
• Lifts at least 50 pounds; strong teamwork.
• Willingness to travel; OSHA Lockout/Tagout knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on involvement and directs contractors to complete projects.
• Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, pipe fitting, carpentry, plumbing, welding, sheet metal, machining, rigging, HVAC and refrigeration work.
• Maintains 6S, housekeeping and safety standards.
• Supports start-up and shutdown of facilities as needed.
• Maintains tools, inventory and shop maintenance records.
• Ensures calibration of process control instrumentation.
• Adheres to OSHA, ANSI, EPA, NFPA, OCWD and TS16949:2002 standards.
• Travel and overtime as required; extends effort to support operations.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Spartanburg SC

Duration: Full time/Direct Hire

Compensation: $35 - $42 per hour

Shifts: 11pm - 7am (Monday - Friday). Overtime as needed

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe repair and troubleshooting of maintenance equipment. This includes, but may not be limited to installation, preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and decommissioning of equipment and machinery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides hands‑on involvement and completion of tasks and/or direction to contractor(s) service companies performing or assisting to get the projects complete
• Performs a variety of service work in the following: Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Pipe Fitting, Carpentry, Plumbing, Welding & Fabrication, Sheet Metal Working, Machining, Rigging, Erection, HVAC, Refrigeration, Etc.
• Takes a proactive approach to safety in all work activities
• Assist in the start‑up and shutdown of facilities, as needed
• Administrative responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Parts, material and service ordering and scheduling, researching and purchasing, maintaining records, files, manuals and other shop maintenance related items
• Maintain organization of the Maintenance Crib & Office and its contents making sure all tools and related equipment used for maintenance purposes are in good operable condition. Also, ensure consumable parts and frequently used maintenance items are in inventory, organized and available for use
• Maintain all Shop – Process Control Instrument Calibration requirements
• Ensure compliance with regulations and enforce industry guidelines set by but not limited to OSHA, ANSI, EPA, NFPA, OCWD and TS16949: 2002 Standards
• Ensures 6S, housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained
• Must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Leadership Model
• May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed and directed by manager

Education and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two Year College Degree or applicable Technical Training and Certification is preferred.
• Two plus years of experience, industrial maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude is required, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems
• Electrical and Hydraulic experience necessary, ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
• Experience with rubber and/or plastic extrusion/ injection molding and extrusion equipment preferred
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Use of CMMS (MP2, SAP) software a plus
• Forklift/Lift Truck / Aerial Lift operator experience a plus
• Has no supervisory responsibilities; manages own workload
• Must be able to read metric and imperial prints, schematics and equipment manuals.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
• Positive teamwork and attitude required to support the manufacturing environment
• Experience with OSHA standards and Lockout/Tagout preferred
• Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary
