Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift at our Jackson, Georgia plant. This role ensures robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance, repairs and continuous improvement.

The 3rd shift runs Sunday to Thursday, 10pm-6am, with training on a 1st shift schedule initially. Experience with PLCs, HMIs and electrical systems is preferred, and pay ranges from $34 to $40 per hour plus shift differential and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, drives, HMIs, and other electrical components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals required.

Responsibilities

• Work with PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers to improve plant automation.
• Perform general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assist in implementing new equipment and improvements.
• Diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.

The Maintenance Technician will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance, repairs and continuous improvement.

3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am with training initially on 1st shift (M-F, 6a-2pm).

Hourly Rate: $34-$40/hr. commensurate with experience + shift differential with bonus potential

What Success Looks Like:

• Working with PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, etc. to improve overall plant automation efforts.
• Performing general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
• Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions.
• Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Must know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.

What You Bring:

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other electrical components.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals required.

3rd Shift: 10pm-6am (Sunday-Thursday)
Hourly Rate: $34-$40/hr. commensurate with experience + shift differential with bonus potential
