Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Technician II-1st Shift for its Orwell, Ohio facility. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and implement improvements to ensure reliable production in a safe environment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing components up to 480V, using a DVM, and coordinating with off-shift staff. The role requires 2–3 years of maintenance experience and familiarity with PLCs/HMIs and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and electrical components preferred.
• Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assist in implementing new equipment and improvements.
• Diagnose failed components and work on voltages up to 480V.
• Coordinate updates with off-shift maintenance and team members.
• Use a digital voltmeter (DVM)
• Support sustained, safe equipment solutions.

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician II- 1st Shift to join our team located in Orwell, Ohio.

The Maintenance Technician will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Hourly Rate: $25.93-$38.33/hr. commensurate with experience w/ possible increase after a 90-Day Performance Evaluation.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts- Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

What Success Looks Like:

• Performing general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
• Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions.
• Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Must know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
• knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other electrical components.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.
