Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for the 3rd shift in Orwell, Ohio. You will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

The role offers hourly pay of $25–$38 with a 20% shift differential and potential increase after a 90‑day review. Schedule is 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, with strong growth and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience.
• Experience with PLCs/ HMIs preferred.
• Able to pass Electrical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of equipment and preventive tasks.
• Assist in implementing new equipment and improvements.
• Document repairs and provide follow-up feedback to internal customers.
• Collaborate with maintenance and line personnel to solve equipment issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Diagnose failed components and work on voltages up to 480V.
• Utilize digital voltmeter (DVM) properly.
• Coordinate updates with off-shift personnel and team members.
• Knowledge of PLCs, drives, HMIs, and other electrical components.
• Attend external training for continual education.

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Technician II- 3rd Shift to join our team located in Orwell, Ohio.

The Maintenance Technician will ensure robust operation of equipment through preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Hourly Rate: $25-$38/hr. commensurate with experience + 20% shift differential w/ possible increase after 90 Day Performance Review.

What Success Looks Like:

• Performing general maintenance of all equipment.
• Assisting in the implementation of new equipment and equipment improvements.
• Performing thorough work and follow-through on the repairs through feedback from internal customers.
• Communicate with other maintenance personnel and line workers to solve equipment issues and perform sustainable solutions.
• Must be able to diagnose failed components and safely work on voltages up to 480V.
• Must know how to properly use a digital voltmeter (DVM).
• Continually coordinate equipment updates, and operational issues with off shift maintenance personnel and other team members as needed.
• knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other electrical components.
• Attend outside training and seminars for continual education.

Your Credentials:

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), drives, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and other electrical components experience preferred.
• Ability to pass Electrical fundamentals
