Job summary

CCH is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician III for FAHA Manor in Sonoma, CA. The role supports daily maintenance, safety, and resident services, working with the Facilities team to ensure Quality Housing.

Responsibilities include performing repairs, handling work orders in Yardi, and coordinating with management. The position requires the ability to work indoors and outdoors and to respond to unplanned events with efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

• Prior apartment maintenance or construction experience.

• Move furniture, supplies, and equipment; maintain inventory of tools and safety items.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; coordinate with vendors as needed.

Job Summary

A Maintenance Technician III oversees the day-to-day maintenance operations of assigned properties. The Maintenance Technician is a key member that ensures the upkeep and safety of the property and will jump in and work alongside the team. Work involves indoor and outdoor environments and flexibility to adapt to unplanned events, while remaining resourceful and efficient. Works in coordination with the Associate Director of Facilities to ensure the maintenance teams deliver Safe, Appropriate and Sanitary Housing to all our residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to caring and positive working and living environments for all employees and residents
• Assist in enforcing safety regulations; identify and report and/or correct safety hazards.
• Perform custodial duties such as cleaning, mopping, emptying trash, replacing light bulbs, etc.
• Maintain, diagnose, and repair all aspects of physical building, outdoor areas, parking areas, and individual units including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
• Manages and prioritizes work orders in Yardi (or like program) in collaboration with the Assistant Community and Community Managers
• Monitor and replenish maintenance inventory based on property needs, while staying within budget
• General carpentry duties to prepare apartments for move-in; including but not limited to cleaning, painting, repairing, replacing, and/or refinishing surfaces, windows, appliances, window coverings, flooring, etc.
• Move common space furniture, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain regular inventory of needed supplies including but not limited to tools, equipment, safety and safeguards tools, and chemicals
• Regularly attends staff meetings and assigned trainings
• Coordinate with Property and Facilities Management to acquire vendors as necessary
• Enter completed work orders into the Software system with all detailed information pertaining to each repair
• Supports with training of new Maintenance team members
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting + Organizational Relationships

This position will report directly to the Community Manager and does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation & Classification

CCH is committed to paying competitive wages. The salary range for this position is $26.39 - $31.36 in California and $23.02 - $29.23 outside of California. CCH has a competitive benefits package with health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 8% of an employer contribution for retirement, and more. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position is based at a FAHA Manor, located at 191 W. Verano Avenue, Sonoma, CA 95476.

Physical Demands

Generally extensive physical exertion is required. Prolonged periods of walking, bending, climbing, manual manipulations and use of hand tools. Must be able to regularly lift, move and carry items over 50lbs. Physical demands also include continual sitting, typing, and repetitive computer use for up to 8 hours a day. The position also requires frequent communication with others, including hearing and speaking clearly with individuals and groups, in person and via phone and video calls. These demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the job’s essential functions.
