Job summary

United Church Homes, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Columbus Colony Housing 1. The role covers exterior and interior upkeep, unit preparation for new residents, and routine preventive maintenance across common areas and apartments.

The position requires basic trade skills, a valid driver’s license if traveling between locations, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of related maintenance experience.
• Technical training or maintenance certifications helpful; must obtain state/federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Exterior maintenance: clean sidewalks, entrances, parking lot, remove trash, snow, leaves, inspect surfaces for repairs.
• Interior upkeep: daily cleaning of entrance vestibule, lobby, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Floor maintenance: strip and wax floors as directed.
• Apartment reconditioning: inspect vacant units and prepare for painting, patch drywall, protect carpet.
• Emergency procedures: follow maintenance protocols and coordinate with local authorities as needed.
• On‑call 24/7 for emergencies and coordinate with external vendors for larger projects.
