Job summary

Valence Surface Technologies in West Springfield, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on plating machinery and related equipment. You will assist senior technicians and support installations, documentation, and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes shop-based work with a focus on safety, proper tool storage, and continuous skill development through training sessions.

Job description

The majority of work is performed in shop conditions.

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on plating machinery, tanks, rectifiers, and other equipment according to established schedules and maintenance procedures.
• Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of issues.
• Perform basic repairs and adjustments on plating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintenance standards.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technician I and III to support their development and enhance the efficiency of maintenance activities.
• Assist in equipment installations, disassembly, and assembly tasks as required by the maintenance team.
• Help maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to further develop technical skills and stay current with industry best practices.
• Support senior technicians in identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to improve efficiency and safety.
• Comply with all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and in good working condition.

Compensation

Compensation $32.00 to $35.00 Hourly
