Job summary

Valence in Massachusetts is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plating machinery, tanks, rectifiers, and related equipment in shop conditions.

The four-day schedule (36 hours paid for 40) and hourly pay of $35.00–$38.00 reflect a hands-on role. You’ll troubleshoot, document work orders, assist in installations, and collaborate with senior technicians while upholding safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on plating machinery, tanks, rectifiers, and related equipment.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of issues.
  • Print basic repairs and adjustments on plating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintenance standards.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technician I and III to support development and efficiency of maintenance activities.
  • Assist in equipment installations, disassembly, and assembly tasks as required by the maintenance team.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop technical skills and stay current with industry practices.
  • Support senior technicians in identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Comply with safety guidelines to create a safe working environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance workshop.

Job description

The majority of work is performed in shop conditions.



  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on plating machinery, tanks, rectifiers, and other equipment according to established schedules and maintenance procedures.

  • Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes of issues.

  • Print basic repairs and adjustments on plating equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and maintenance standards.

  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technician I and III to support their development and enhance the efficiency of maintenance activities.

  • Assist in equipment installations, disassembly, and assembly tasks as required by the maintenance team.

  • Help maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inventory records.

Four days schedule: Work 36 hours get paid for 40 hours


Friday and Monday 7:00am to 3:30pm Saturday and Sunday 6:30am to 5:00pm


Compensation $35.00 to $38.00 Hourly


This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Persons”.
