Job summary

Spring Valley in Jackson, WI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our plant. You will work with the Plant Manager, other technicians, and the Safety Coordinator to maintain equipment and ensure safety standards are met.

You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, hydraulics, conveyors, and production machines, while troubleshooting issues, fabricating parts, and coordinating repairs with external vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in blueprint reading, electrical, hydraulics, and heavy equipment maintenance.
• Able to lift over 50 lbs.
• Comfortable using ladders and working at heights up to 90 feet.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance with Plant Manager, Maintenance Technicians, and Safety Coordinator to resolve issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing equipment in operation.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
• Maintain inventories of equipment, parts, and supplies; place and track orders.
• Schedule outside companies for repairs when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment by following procedures and rules.

Job Overview

• Collaborate with Plant Manager, Maintenance Technicians & Safety Coordinator to ensure maintenance and safety related matters are resolved in a timely manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, hydraulics, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines such as hoppers, screeners, mixing machines, bag sealers, and scales.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories; place and expedite orders; verify receipt.
• Schedule and coordinate outside companies to perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Pay & Benefits

• Hourly pay based on experience, overtime eligible.

Requirements

• Able to work under pressure and prioritize maintenance needs.

• Previous experience, degree, or knowledge in blueprint reading, schematics, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, engines, maintenance/repair of heavy equipment/machines in an industrial environment, etc.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Comfortable using ladders and working at heights up to 90 feet.
• Have reliable transportation to get to and from work.
• Ability to pass a post‑offer drug screening.
• Outstanding attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to wear PPE including but not limited to safety toe boots, safety glasses, harnesses, and dust mask or respirator.

Shift

• 1st Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm Monday‑Friday.
• Overtime as needed, including weekends.
