Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a meat processing facility in Peru, IN. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on conveyors, grinders, slicers, and packaging equipment, ensuring safe operation during production hours.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, basic electrical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a cold, wet environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred.
• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (food or meat processing preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with PLCs, motors, gearboxes, and industrial systems is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Comfortable working in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of processing equipment such as conveyors, grinders, slicers, and packaging machines.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and maintain equipment performance.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues during the shift.
• Maintain and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and required documentation accurately.
• Follow all safety, food safety (USDA/FDA), and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production staff to support operational goals.

Description: One of our clients is currently seeking a maintenance tech. They are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support our meat processing facility. In this role, you will help ensure that all equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently during production hours. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment.
