Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a meat processing facility in Saint Joseph, MO. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, grinders, slicers, and packaging machines to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable in a cold, wet environment. High school diploma or GED required; 2 years industrial maintenance experience (food/meat processing preferred);

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred.
• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, food or meat processing preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with PLCs, motors, gearboxes, and industrial systems is a plus.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Comfortable working in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of processing equipment such as conveyors, grinders, slicers, and packaging machines.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and maintain equipment performance.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues during the shift.
• Maintain and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and required documentation accurately.
• Follow all safety, food safety (USDA/FDA), and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production staff to support operational goals.
