Placements24 client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their manufacturing team in Welkom, South Africa. The role focuses on maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and minimizing downtime.

You will work with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, read blueprints and schematics, and ensure all safety protocols are followed. This is a hands-on, day-to-day position with opportunities for skills development and advancement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems knowledge.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform repairs.

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities in CMMS.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations during maintenance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team in Welkom. This essential role involves ensuring the optimal functionality and longevity of all manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing machinery issues, and ensuring a safe working environment. This is a critical position for maintaining operational efficiency and minimizing downtime within their production facility, contributing directly to the smooth running of operations in the Free State.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all manufacturing machinery and equipment according to schedule.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, implementing timely and effective repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns, working to minimize production downtime.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in the company's CMMS.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations during maintenance operations.
• Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
