Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Equipment Technician to join our client’s operations in Welkom, Free State. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing sophisticated manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

The candidate will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, interpret technical manuals, install and commission new equipment, and perform preventative maintenance while following strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Industrial Equipment Technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to interpret manuals, blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and calibration of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems failures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Equipment Technician or a similar role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrician) is advantageous.
• Must be willing to work in Welkom, Free State and adhere to site-specific working hours.
