Job summary

Viant Medical Inc. in Town of Orchard Park, NY, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold all equipment, HVAC and electrical systems per the preventive maintenance schedule.

The role emphasizes reliability, safety and meticulous record-keeping within a manufacturing facility. You will conduct preventive maintenance, perform unscheduled service, coordinate with outside contractors, manage spare parts and maintain clean, organized work areas while following PM procedures and waste handling

Qualifications

• Manufacturing maintenance experience with preventive maintenance.
• Proficiency with tools and electrical/HVAC systems.
• Ability to read instructions and communicate effectively.
• Experience with PM scheduling and records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance per the schedule for all equipment to reduce downtime and prevent failures.
• Perform unscheduled servicing of equipment after a problem is discovered.
• Employ 5S principles to maintain an efficient, clean, and organized work area and manage spare parts.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance issues on all equipment.
• Follow proper waste handling procedures for non-hazardous waste.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for routine maintenance items/services when needed.
• Ensure cleaning schedules adhere to PM-015 and maintenance schedules.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Other duties as necessary.

Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep of all equipment, HVAC and electrical systems and routine maintenance, utilizing the preventive maintenance schedule.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive maintenance per the schedule for all equipment assigned, to reduce downtime and prevent failures
• Perform unscheduled servicing of equipment after a problem is discovered
• Employ the strategies of 5S in order to maintain an efficient work area; clean, well ordered and maintaining the right types and amounts of spare parts
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance issues on all equipment
• Follow the proper methods and procedures for the handling of non-hazardous waste in the plant and removal of waste from the plant
• Deal with outside contractors for routine maintenance items/service contracts when necessary
• Ensure cleaning schedules are adhered to per PM-015 and maintenance schedules
• Keep work area clean
• Other duties as necessary

Requirements:

• At least 1 year in a Maintenance Technician position at a manufacturing facility, responsible for maintaining equipment and systems
• Able to use all the tools necessary to conduct the work involved with maintaining Viant Medical’s equipment and building systems
• Able to use the computer, specifically spreadsheets, word processing and data base programs as well as experience with PM systems
• Able to give and follow instructions, both written and verbal
• Effectively communicate with all levels of employees, as well as outside contractors
• Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities with many time constraints

Environmental working conditions

• Ability to spend time using your hands to handle, control, reach, or feel objects, tools or controls
• Will spend extended periods of time standing and walking throughout the shop
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, bend and twist
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
