Maintenance Technician
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm OR 3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:00am

Summary
Assist in the day‑to‑day facility upkeep, including manufacturing/distribution equipment repair and preventative maintenance to assure the facility and equipment are maintained in top condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with day‑to‑day facility upkeep and manufacturing/distribution equipment repair and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic, HVAC and electrical/electronic equipment.
- Suggest cost‑saving upgrades to equipment and changes to improve performance of equipment.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of SOPs and the Preventative Maintenance program.
- Coordinate and communicate with cross‑functional people regarding maintenance projects and requests.
- Maintain and repair office furniture and equipment.
- Assist with general facility maintenance including snow removal, sidewalk maintenance, and lighting replacement.
- Complete maintenance work orders by requested due dates.
- Source and order parts and supplies when needed.
- Perform all maintenance related duties and preventative maintenance not described above on an as‑needed basis.
- Occasional overtime and on‑call work schedule is needed to meet business needs.
Maintenance Technician I (0 – 24 month period)
- Review and begin building knowledge of required SOP and GMP guidelines for position.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
- Build partnerships through teamwork and communication.
- Accurate documentation is required.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and conduct routine PM procedures.
- Knowledge in safety policy and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Complete all established Technician I requirements within a 24 month period.
Education and/or Experience
Industrial mechanic's degree or certification required with an electrical/mechanical repair background, plus a minimum of 5 to 8 years related work experience. Facility maintenance experience is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Other Skills and Abilities
- PLC knowledge, troubleshooting and programming.
- Knowledge of automation control is a plus.
- Must be a self‑starter with the ability to become self‑directed.
- Ability to read European/American electrical, mechanical schematics and prints, as well as technical manuals is required.
- Must have knowledge in using micrometer and calipers as well as various metals.
- Must be able to fabricate brackets and guards with the use of hand tools and have familiarity with drilling and tapping.
- Prior powered material handling equipment experience and background in GMP environments is a plus.
