Job summary

Golding is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and adjust equipment to meet manufacturer specifications and production requirements. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and safe operation of electrical panels and machinery.

We operate on a 2-2-3, 12-hour schedule supporting 24/7 coverage. Relocation assistance is available to the right candidate. Strong teamwork and commitment to GMP and SQF standards are required.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience as maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with automation, production, and computer systems.
• Ability to read wiring schematics and machine manuals.

Responsibilities

• Repair, adjust and test machinery and equipment in the manufacturing process.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and document results.
• Troubleshoot electrical components including motors, VFDs and PLCs.
• Safely work inside electrical panels and follow safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and comply with GMP/SOP.

Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and adjusting equipment as needed to ensure it operates according to manufacturer’s specifications and production requirements.

Primary Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Services, repairs, adjusts and test various machinery, devices, and equipment related to the manufacturing process.
• Ability to learn production equipment processes and operations to aid in machine troubleshooting and operation support.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance tasks as necessary.
• Timely, effective troubleshooting.
• Demonstrate knowledge of minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting on motors, VFDs, PLCs, high and low voltage applications.
• Safely work inside electrical panels and understand the function of all components inside.
• Read and understand wiring schematics and machine manuals.
• Troubleshoot safety switches and safety circuitry.
• Welding, use of acetylene torch.
• Use of pneumatic controls.
• Perform work on hydraulic equipment.
• Perform regular maintenance on gear boxes and conveyors.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures.
• Follow all food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
• 5 years experience as maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment required.
• 5+ years maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred; automated equipment experience a plus
• Skilled in installing and maintaining pumps, bearings, pulleys, belts, chains, gearboxes, bushings, etc.
• Proficient with automation, production, and computer systems
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear communicator with technicians, operators, managers, and plant leadership
• Able to work independently or in teams; communicates effectively via radio, phone, and in person

• Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
• Must be able to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.
• Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work in a wet and/or humid environment. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals will occur. Exposure to nut allergens.

• May work 12-hour shifts on a fixed schedule rotation, including holidays
• Must lift up to 50 lbs.; requires walking, bending, squatting, and climbing ladders/stairs
