Job summary

Elkhart in Ridgefield, WA seeks a Maintenance Technician I to perform preventative and continuous maintenance on facility, equipment and tools. Schedule is 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday, with benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401K.

Role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing, basic electrical and welding skills, and forklift certification. Strong communication and mechanical aptitude are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of tools (manual and electric).
  • Basic electrical experience.
  • Basic welding skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
  • Forklift certification or pass training course for operation.
  • High mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure manufacturing procedures are available prior to repairs.
  • Complete maintenance work orders promptly and communicate completion to the originator.
  • Review procedures with manager to understand requirements.
  • Ensure needed tools and parts are available before starting.
  • Communicate issues with parts or procedures to manager.
  • Complete projects by the due date and meet maintenance standards.

Job description

Job Overview:

The responsibility of Maintenance Technician I is to provide preventative and continuous maintenance of facility, equipment and tools as prescribed by manufactures.

Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Vacation, Sick Pay, 12 Paid Holidays.

Pay Rate: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour.

Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure manufacturing procedures are available prior to initiating repairs.
  • Quickly and accurately complete assigned maintenance work orders and communicate completion to the originator.
  • Review manufacturing procedures with manager; make sure you understand all aspects of procedure before starting the assignment.
  • Make sure all necessary tools and equipment for each job are in place before work begins.
  • Make sure all parts to complete the repair are available, if not, notify your manager.
  • When in doubt, ask your manager concerning problems with parts or procedures.
  • Complete all assigned projects by the due date.
  • Meet or exceed maintenance standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with maintenance in manufacturing
  • Experience with a variety of tools (manual and electric)
  • Basic electrical experience
  • Basic welding skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to read and write proficiently in English.
  • Ability to operate and maintain industrial equipment.

Education and Experience
  • 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred
Working Conditions

Able to work in a hot humid environment for extended periods of time.

This job is in a typical manufacturing environment, to include, but not limited to:

  • Ovens, torches, and rotating tools
  • Forklifts and other moving machinery
  • Loud work environment
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain stationary with intermediate walking throughout the shift. Frequently lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and parts more than 50 pounds with assistance and must be able to transport these up to 20 feet.
  • Frequently positions self to maneuver around the parts, materials, and molds. Must be able to operate the hand and tools and write legible.
