Job summary

TPI Global Solutions is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician II - Mechanical to support safe, reliable operation of natural gas facilities in Stony Point, NY. This field-based role focuses on compressors, engines, rotating equipment, and related systems.

You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems; document activities; and collaborate with operations, maintenance teams, and contractors to keep equipment running safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of directly related mechanical maintenance experience or training.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience maintaining, repairing, or servicing industrial mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems in gas transmission operations.
• Maintain gas compression equipment, prime movers, and rotating machinery.

Are you a hands-on mechanical professional who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining critical equipment?

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician II - Mechanical to support the safe, reliable operation of natural gas transmission facilities in Stony Point, NY. This is a field-based opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working around compressors, engines, rotating equipment, and other industrial systems.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for hands-on inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems supporting gas transmission operations, including:

• Gas compression equipment and rotating machinery
• Prime movers and high-speed gas engines
• Air and air dryer systems
• Cooling systems
• Auxiliary station equipment
• Other mechanical and operational equipment

You’ll also identify and report abnormal operating conditions, complete maintenance documentation, follow established SOPs and O&M procedures, and work closely with operations, maintenance teams, and contractors to keep equipment operating safely and reliably.

• Natural gas transmission or pipeline operations
• Compressor stations
• Industrial mechanical maintenance
• Compressors and rotating equipment
• Pumps, cooling systems, fuel systems, or pneumatic/air systems
• Field service or equipment troubleshooting
• Pipeline or energy-related maintenance and regulatory requirements

Pipeline or compressor-station experience is highly valued, but strong industrial mechanical technicians with transferable compressor, engine, rotating-equipment, or field-service experience are encouraged to apply.

What You Can Expect

This is a hands-on field position where no two days are necessarily the same. The role requires comfort working outdoors and around industrial equipment, as well as the ability to participate in overtime, weekends, shift schedules, on-call/standby rotations, and occasional overnight travel as business needs require.

You must be able to perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, kneeling, reaching, walking on uneven terrain, and working in varying weather conditions.

This is a safety-critical and safety-sensitive position, so a strong commitment to safe work practices is essential.

Location Requirement

The reporting location is Stony Point, NY. Candidates must currently reside within, or be willing to relocate to within, 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.
