Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our multi-family communities running smoothly. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems, and address resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.

You’ll conduct property inspections, coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager, and ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
• Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
• Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
• Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
• Perform snow and ice removal.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies. Weekend work is required as needed.
• Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.
