Job summary

Conifer Realty LLC in Warren, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Technician for affordable housing communities. The role focuses on reliable, hands-on maintenance to keep residents safe and comfortable and to support ongoing property operations.

You’ll perform routine tasks across painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds care, with an on-call rotation and a Monday–Friday schedule. Salary ranges from $28 to $30 per hour, full-time employment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance (painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cleaning).
• Care for the grounds and curb appeal (landscaping, snow/ice removal, seasonal upkeep).
• Respond quickly to work orders and rotate for on-call coverage (respond within 30 minutes).
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Collaborate with peers and residents to ensure quality repairs.

What You’ll Bring as a Maintenance Technician

You’re skilled, dependable, and care about doing the job right. You bring:

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we’ll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.
