Conifer Realty is hiring a Maintenance Technician for Loch Sheldrake, NY. The role focuses on routine and preventative maintenance to keep our affordable housing communities safe and welcoming.

You’ll handle painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and upkeep, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Qualified applicants have 2+ years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, reliable transportation, basic computer skills, and strong

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we’ll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Responsibilities

• Bring spaces to life – perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Care for the grounds – maintain curb appeal through landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond with urgency – complete work orders promptly and rotate for emergency on-call coverage (respond within 30 minutes).
• Prioritize quality & compliance – follow all safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Be part of a team that cares – work closely with peers and residents, showing empathy and pride in every repair.

Salary: $18.00 - $24.00 | Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 40hrs | On-Call Rotation

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.
