Job summary

Conifer Realty in Rochester, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician for affordable housing communities. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, to keep units and common areas in top condition.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift 50–100 lbs, and reliable transportation. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus and options for overtime coverage exist.

• Reliability for overtime coverage and travel to nearby properties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance (painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cleaning).
• Care for grounds and curb appeal including landscaping and snow/ice removal.
• Respond to work orders promptly and rotate for on-call coverage.
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Collaborate with peers and residents to provide quality repairs.

What You'll Bring As a Maintenance Technician

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we'll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills, a plus that helps connect with our residents!

Requirements

Work schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

When required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

Employees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.
