Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment and the physical plant in accordance with state, federal and company policies and procedures. The Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regularly scheduled maintenance on production machinery and equipment to maintain them in a proper working condition.
- Perform daily maintenance operations of the facility.
- Report to the maintenance supervisor on issues, status and functions within the department.
- Be on call to assist with any maintenance operational needs.
- Diagnose problems with equipment and repair or replace defective parts, fabricating as needed.
- Support and comply with safety and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- Basic math skills.
- Previous knowledge of machinery used in polyethylene film manufacturing.
- Welding skills.
- Three to five years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical or mechanical field or a related experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- No fear of heights.
- Basic manufacturing wiring experience.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Strategic thinker.
Required
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures, including wearing PPE in designated areas.
- Visually inspects production area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards, employee safety, and adherence to policies; maintains compliance with OSHA, other governmental agencies and housekeeping rules.
