Job description

The principal purpose of this job description is to outline the roles and responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping, electrical systems, control systems, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, fabrication/welding, and performs preventive maintenance by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions & Duties

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Change light fixtures when necessary.
• Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• Installs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricated machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
• Troubleshooting of Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatics and mechanical equipment. Use of measurement tools, tape measures, calipers, micro-meters, etc.
• Use of multi-meters, Meggers, and other types of electrical troubleshooting meters.
• Reading of mechanical and electrical diagrams and prints
• Perform machine preventative maintenances task as schedule in timely manner.
• Complete maintenance workorders as schedule in timely manner.
• Use, understanding, and execution of LEAP/5S, HSE standards.

EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE

• Knowledge of attribute and variable gaging.
• Plant ERP system (Currently Plex)
• Hydromat/cold header knowledge (experience) - plus
• Fanuc Robot – (operations/programming) - plus
• Allen Bradley PLC relay and ladder logic – understanding - plus
• Vision Systems for compliance – COGNEX/Keyence/ - camera systems – plus
