Job Description
Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment repair, uptime, cycle time improvements and Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) for all equipment and facilities.
- Install, repair, maintain and improve all equipment and facilities.
- Analyse and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production throughput, quality and equipment longevity.
- Examine and test equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
- Process Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders and close them out in the system.
- Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set‑up and preventive maintenance records.
- Review Production System Efficiency and Quality System Efficiency workshops to support continuous improvement; propose and implement continuous productivity, process and quality improvement actions for all facilities.
- Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements that pertain to the manufacturing environment and the maintenance function.
- Facilitate equipment moves on the shop floor, including all plant utilities, communication and network wiring systems connections.
- Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities, making sure manufacturing, maintainability and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met.
- Set up requisitions for supplies, equipment and facilities.
- Participate in the management of the inventory of spare parts and consumables to eliminate downtime.
- Keep most recent documentation related to maintenance.
- All other duties as assigned.
Technical School
Area of Study: Specialization in Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or similar.
- Equivalent work experience may also be considered for this position.
Qualifications
- 3 Minimum Years Of Experience With Maintenance / Engineering.
- 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
- Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic prints.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues – 12v dc, 120v, 240v single phase, and 480v 3 phase systems and distribution.
- Experience operating basic shop tools.
- High level of mechanical aptitude.
- Proven ability to undertake tasks of substantial variety and/or complexity, which require an extensive knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, tools, materials, machines, and equipment.
- Ability to work in matrix organization.
- Journeyman Electrical License.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining a wide variety of equipment including but not limited to – light assembly, plastic welding technology, injection molding machines, slush machines, foam in place equipment, robots.
- Welding experience.
- PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
- Excellent Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic circuit troubleshooting.
