Job description

Summary

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipes, electrical and electronic systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function.
  • Diagnose and repair electromechanical equipment; experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, PLC integration.
  • Use MaintMizer to open, close work orders, and document repairs.
  • Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Replace and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, and electronic components.
  • Read blueprints, electrical or hydraulic schematics and other technical materials.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
  • Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment and programmable controllers.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures; replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.
  • Log time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records.
  • Design and fabricate machine and equipment modifications as needed to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 policies, procedures and instructions.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2‑year college or technical school in maintenance or a related field.
  • Six years of technical experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mastery of at least four (4) of the essential maintenance skills.
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
