Job summary

Flaherty & Collins Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our apartment communities in Indianapolis. You will troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems, address resident requests, and support turnovers to ensure units are move-in ready.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a proactive, team-focused approach. After-hours and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • HVAC/EPA certifications or similar credentials are a plus, along with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Hands-on experience in maintenance, with skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
  • You’re a team player who communicates effectively and works well with others.
  • You’re detail-oriented and take pride in delivering high-quality work.
  • You’re proactive and enjoy solving problems with practical solutions.
  • You’re dependable and flexible, ready to handle after-hours or weekend emergencies when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all property systems and equipment are in excellent working condition.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems as needed.
  • Address and resolve resident maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.
  • Ensure the property meets safety standards and complies with applicable regulations.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist with apartment turnovers, ensuring units are move-in ready for new residents.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours calls when necessary.
  • Perform snow and ice removal.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies. Weekend work is required as needed.
  • Physical tasks are required, along with other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Technician
