Indiana University Health at IU Health University Hospital seeks a facilities technician to perform preventive and non-scheduled maintenance, respond to calls, and troubleshoot various building systems. The role insists on coordinating with other services to meet patient care needs.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with 2 years of related experience and knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and air systems.
Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Schedule: On-call rotation is required for four weekends out of the year. Additional weekend coverage may be required due to operational needs.
Standard Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Location: IU Health University Hospital
Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems. Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements. Recommends through the appropriate channels any improvements and corrections to the facilities equipment and/or systems that meet overall patient care needs. Coordinates functions with other services and departments. Performs routine building and grounds inspections. Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED required.
