Job summary

IU Health in Indiana is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance and to troubleshoot various building systems in a healthcare setting.

You will respond to maintenance requests, inspect facilities, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure patient care environments meet code and safety standards. A valid driver's license and experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of relevant maintenance experience required.
• Valid Indiana Driver's License required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.

Details

This is a full-time position. The standard hours are Monday-Friday 7:00am until 3:30pm. Team member will be required to work on-call rotations. A work truck will be provided for team member during working hours. 4 - 10 hr days is possible option as well

Locations

7 different off-site locations. Most locations are near downtown Indianapolis.

Position Summary

Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responding to dispatched general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting/repairing secondary utility systems of buildings, plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical and air systems. Maintains, repairs and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements. Recommends through the appropriate channels any improvements and corrections to the facilities equipment and/or systems that meet overall patient care needs. Coordinates functions with other services and departments. Performs routine building and grounds inspections. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Requires general knowledge in the use of power and hand tools.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes related to healthcare preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
